How to play Deli Cut
- Each food hangs from a hook with its total weight on a tag, and the monster orders a part of it: “25 g please!”
- Swipe once across the food. The cut runs straight along your swipe, right across, and everything the hook isn’t holding falls onto the scale.
- Land close enough to the order and the next one comes up. On difficulty 5 the six orders must be within 7% of the food’s total weight, down to 5.5% for the last. Too far off ends the run.
- The foods get harder to judge: butter with a mark every tenth, a salami, a cheese wedge, a ham, Swiss cheese whose holes weigh nothing, and fudge whose dark half weighs twice the light half.
- You start on difficulty 3 of 10. Clear a difficulty to unlock the next: more orders and a tighter margin. Pick any unlocked difficulty with the arrows on the start card.
Tips
- Think in shares, not lengths: 25 g of 100 g is a quarter of the food, wherever you cut it.
- A wedge hung by its wide end has a light tip. Cutting off a fifth of its weight takes nearly half its length.
- Mind which side keeps the hook. Cut on the wrong side and the big part falls.
- On the fudge, a cut from the light end takes twice as much length as the same weight from the dark end.
- Everyone gets the same orders all day, and new ones at midnight UTC. “Practice a new layout” deals fresh orders any time, off the leaderboard.
