How to play Fish Tug
- Hold to reel and let go to give line. The gauge on the left shows the line’s tension.
- Reeling only brings the fish in while the line is tight: the marker has to be in the green.
- Hold too long and the tension climbs into the red, and the line snaps.
- Every so often the fish splashes and makes a run. While it runs it pulls the line tight by itself, so let go.
- Bring it all the way in to land it (45 metres on difficulty 5). If it gets 20 metres further out than it started, it’s gone.
- You start on difficulty 3 of 10. Clear a difficulty to unlock the next: a fish further out, runs that pull harder and less warning before them. Pick any unlocked difficulty with the arrows on the start card.
Tips
- Reel in short pulls: hold, let the marker drop, hold again.
- On difficulty 5 the splash comes half a second before the run. Let go as soon as you see it.
- Keep the marker high in the green. Slack line catches nothing.
- Everyone gets the same fish all day, and a new one at midnight UTC. “Practice a new layout” deals a fresh fish any time, off the leaderboard.
